The ultrasound was on April 30. It was the most "un-describable" experience in my life yet. Part of the reason why an ultrasound is done around 18 weeks into the pregnancy is to ensure that the baby is developing well and that there are no abnormalities. The technician pointed out everything on the screen - hands, feet, eye socket, spine - the baby even moved in response to external stimuli. I was wide eyed, glued to the ultrasound screen during the entire duration :) Everyone has their preferences, but as a parent, you just hope all the time that whatever the sex of the baby, it should be healthy. I can certainly claim, that this has been the most moving experience in my life.
It also paved the way for us to start preparing for the baby's arrival - clothes, names, nursery set up.. etc etc..
Below are ultrasound scans. In the first one, you can notice the outline of the face. You can see the nose and the chin and also the outline of the head.
The second one, is a little more difficult to read, but if you let your imagination run wild :), you can see the eye sockets top-bottom orientation.
